"The treachery of images"
The theatre group NICO AND THE NAVIGATORS is performing at three key locations of Modernity. In Dessau, Berlin and Brussels, it will make the Bauhaus tangible, return forgotten themes to the limelight and question our current approach to digital media. The audience will be given augmented reality glasses and is invited to question the reliability of what they see.
Berlin never sleeps, so there’s plenty to experience at night, with a wealth of activities in September. The city offers a programme with something for everyone: from architecture to film and photography, and from young talents to professional artists. Have you ever followed an electrical orchestra through a city centre, using periscopes to peer over the building-site fences? No? Then welcome to the Spree!
The other side to the world
The days are getting shorter and cooler. We are slowly becoming more introspective, as we move from the outdoors and begin to focus more strongly on indoor life. Maybe you also feel inspired to investigate a meaningful theme in greater depth. The events, films, exhibitions, discussions and lectures we have compiled for you can help you find what you are looking for. In Weimar, Mössingen, Hagen and Bernburg, you can discover exciting female creative personalities, dive into psychedelic visual worlds, learn more about the theme of monuments and become artistically active yourself. Dive into your early autumn with the Bauhaus!
Masters, Portfolios and Models
Hessen is looking carefully at the Bauhaus. It is inspecting the beginnings and presents a rare master portfolio and documents which present a bridge between the 1920s and the turbulent times of 1968. Above all Darmstadt and Frankfurt all invite you to discover the past again. We wish you a great deal of pleasure in doing so!
Making a Home in a Foreign Place
Curiosity was one of the driving traits of the Bauhaus adherents. No stone remained unturned, no idea was too radical to be thought. In July, you too have the chance to exercise this way of thinking – while on the move: in the countryside, through the city or into the far reaches of Asia. Whatever you do, don’t just sit around. The summer is too short to be bored. Enjoy it with our Bauhaus tips!
